Hello lovely parents,
Just wanted to send out a reminder about winter clothes and recess. We WILL go outside as long as it is not below 0 degrees outside. The adolescents haven't been wearing snowpants and boots because there isn't snow yet (knock on wood). However, they cannot get their uniform clothes dirty/wet if they are not wearing snowpants- snow on the ground or not. Going into the colder months, please help your adolescent bring the necessary gear: hat, scarf, gloves, boots, snowpants, coat. It is SO cold outside when you are out there for an extended time (I did recess duty all last year). Let me know if you have any questions! Blessings, Maria

I just wanted to put on your radar that I am organizing a day retreat to help the adolescents enter into Advent this year. Advent is probably the most underrated liturgical season and I would like to get them thinking about what it means to prepare for Christ's birth. We will do this during the school day on Thursday, December 6th. Priests, youth ministers, and Miss Smith are all involved and helping me plan a beautiful day for them. More details to follow but I just wanted to make you aware!
Hello parents,
I just wanted to communicate about the adolescent's involvement in the Christmas Pageant. This year the Pageant is on December 9th and rehearsal is on the 8th. The adolescents, as they did last year, will be the behind the scenes support for the E1 and E2 students. They will design, build and paint the sets with the support of David Trana. They will also outfit and costume all of the children in the pageant with the support of Kristen Carlstrom. This role is so important for the function of the play and while it is behind the scenes, shows the adolescents the necessity of having people who may not get recognition but are integral to the production of the play. Let me know if you have any questions! Maria Hello parents,
In A1 we do conferences a little differently - your adolescent prepares their portfolio of their best work, your adolescent completes a reflection and evaluation packet, and so do YOU! The conference is completely student- led, meaning each student will work hard this week to prepare, work on their professional meeting leadership, and reflect in order to have some topics all ready to discuss between you, myself, and them. I ask that you allow your adolescent to lead and work through their conference. It will follow a specific structure that they will practice this week! Your adolescent took home the conference self-reflection packet on Friday, and the FIRST PAGE is the one that is YOUR homework (sorry!). If you could complete that and be sure to bring it to your conference, that would be great! Let me know if you have any questions! I look forward to conferencing with each of you this upcoming Thursday and Friday. |
