A1 Graduation 2019
Dear Parents of the Adolescent Community,
I am writing you to invite reflection on the upcoming graduation of your 8th grader from the Way of the Shepherd Catholic School. There are some components that I want to make you aware of as well as ask for your support on.

T-shirts
The adolescents are in a time where they are learning to identify who they are. A way to celebrate their identities as part of the adolescent community as well as remember their time at the Way of the Shepherd is for them to have graduation t-shirts. Order forms for these shirts are attached, they will be around $20 per shirt. Please let me know as soon as possible if you want a t-shirt as they are more affordable in bulk.

YearBook Pages
The adolescents will be featured as the graduating class in our yearbooks. Each one will have a page about themselves where they will create a way to show the rest of the school who they are as they leave the Way of the Shepherd. They will work on and finish these pages during the school day.

Gift to Classroom
In contemplating how they will leave a legacy behind and move towards fulfilling their cosmic task, the adolescents will work together during the school day to generate a gift to create to leave behind in the adolescent classroom. This will leave their fingerprints on the classroom and leave a legacy behind them for the future generations of adolescents. This will be an independent project which they themselves will run and complete.

Speeches
At the graduation ceremony in May, each adolescent will present a speech they will work on in the classroom and at home. Each adolescent will choose one of our classroom values to focus on and share about how they grew and lived that virtue at WOS and how they will live it going forward into their high school years.

The Month of May:
Service: Time of Service, 2nd Week of May
Faith: LifeLine Mass, May 4th, 6 p.m. (parents/families welcome, more details to come)
Fun: Event Generated by 8th Graders, 3rd Week of May
Graduation Dinner: Dinner hosted by Mrs. Goodwin, May 11th, 6 p.m.
